Training Session Information 




Pool Swimming


We swim at Bicester Leisure Centre in lanes reserved for club members only.  See the club calendar for times and dates.


All our swimming sessions are split by lane into ability groups.  Swimming hats are not required for any of the indoor swim sessions but if you prefer to wear one, then feel free, you won't be alone.  


All pool swim sessions are included in the annual membership fee at no extra cost.


Open Water Swimming


Open water swimming sessions are based at a local lake.   We start monitoring the water temperature from April onwards, as soon as it meets the British Triathlon Federation minimum we start open water swimming sessions.  Details will be communicated to club members on this site and through the weekly training plans.  The location of the lake is only provided to members, this is part of the agreement we have in place that allows us to use this venue.  Directions to the open water swimming lake location are in the Club Member Login section of this site.   

All open water swim sessions cost are included in the annual membership fee at no extra cost.


All members must take a turn at being our Open Water Safety Officer for one session.  Details of the rota and responsibilities can be found in the Club Members Login section of this site.   If you can't make the session you have been allocated then you need to find someone to swap with and then email the club with the details of the swap to the rota.




BTC have a Sunday morning spin session through the winter months, the rest of the time we publicise our individually planned rides on facebook and likeminded club mates will join in if they can - much nicer than riding solo. There is usually a B group (social) ride on a Sunday at 10am for an hour or so, often involving a coffee stop. We plan to have early evening rides for all abilities/speeds through the summer, so do keep an eye on the training calendar. We also use the Bicester Millenium Cycle Club’s TT races on a Tuesday evening for training.




We have two weekly running training sessions:


  • On a Tuesday evening starting from Caversfield running track at 7.00pm. The group will be split into a slower and faster groups if necessary.  This session will usually cover approximately 5 to 6 miles.

  • On most Saturday mornings we have a group from the club participating at in Bicester and other neighboring parkruns. Please check the members Facebook page to see who is running where.​
